Welcome to Blare.Info
At the moment I'm just playing around here, at Weebly. The interface sometimes doesn't seem to allow Me to do exactly what I need, which is very irritating as a web designer. I am always curious about the different design tools that are available. But I think this is a good place for some people to start out. Right now (September, 2013), well over half of small business still needs an online presence. That's a pretty sickening reality, if you don't want to get the word out using a free service, are you even considered a serious business?
When I say well over 1/2, I don't mean 51%, or 55%, either. When the economy went bad back in 2008, it was something ridiculous, like over 85% of small business wasn't online. That number has not changed much in My neck of the woods, though I cannot speak for the rest of the country. And the trouble is that when you aren't online, people like Me who don't use a phone book anymore and pick up their phones, ask Google a question, and are presented with a list of your industries businesses local to your area, you are not listed! Or if you are, it is simply an ad that some one else hosts, but without a website and an online presence strategy, you are listed at the bottom of the list.
Even if you are only putting up general information, like your Business Name, address, phone number, hours of operation, your history, a clever description in an about page, your business plan, mission statement, a map with directions to your business (from anywhere)... do you not see that you are missing the boat if you fail to brand your business online?
Businesses that fail to get online in the very near future will simply get lost. Many resist because of a perceived involved expense, But look at this page at Weebly.com and ask yourself if you might consider putting up a few pages FOR FREE? Heck, who can resist a free website? Among other things, I'm a web designer. I have hundreds of domains, a hundred or so websites, and at least 20 of them provide vital services and information that people actually use. I even offer domain name registrations, web hosting and dedicated site servers as well as reseller opportunities and all the webmaster tools and ecommerce software you should need. And yet I decided to put up a free website up at Weebly, too!
The bigger and better that your brand presence is and the farther and broader its reach extends, the better for your business, the more exposure for your brand, the more people know about your services and/or products. And we know that we can't sell to people that aren't even aware we exist, right?
