Upon Arrival...
I am just getting here, just starting this blog (obviously). But I wanted to make a couple of things clear before I go on...
#1) I don't know how much Weebly charges for its domain registration services, I just won't use their domain registration only because I resell domain names Myself.
#2) My domain name, http://blare.info, (the naked domain name, without the www. subdomain), doesn't and won't show-up in your web browser's address bar above this site because Weebly doesn't support domain names that were not registered at Weebly for free accounts. I am, after all, the competition, as I have at least 6 different web hosting options that I sell, all with their own unique specialties. But that doesn't mean we can't be friends and play nice with each other, either.
#3) On that note, yes, I do have My domain name, Blare.info, fowarded to this website's homepage. So it will get you here, just not stay in the browser's address bar. For branding's sake, this is a no-no. You usually want to have your own domain name in the address bar on your own business website as a means of reinforcing the brand. That said, I like the subdomain that Weebly had available, it does help with branding, a little. But this is just an experimental journey, for Me. I like paying with all sorts of design tools. Perhaps I will come-up with something as unique as this, one day.
#4) Though I personally prefer a modern content management system (often referred to as a CMS), Weebly has actually created a great little tool here that is quite capable and may help get a vast majority of small businesses get online and get found while promoting their brand. That is a big deal. Although I am not converting over to this platform, it is always good to see great works happen. What is happening at Weebly is a great work. Though as a web designer I love to have complete control, Weebly virtually makes it impossible for any English speaking person to not start their own business presence.
As I am just getting here though, there is obviously much to explore that I haven't even tapped, yet. Weebly's interface is intuitive and robust. It is not only easy to use, it is well suited to creating a rich and beautiful site. My hat is off, tipped to its developers. GOOD JOB, WEEBLY!
